Dear colleagues,

Once upon a time, in a small socialist republic at the heart of Europe, a group of scientists unable to travel freely to the West organised a scientific meeting and invited colleagues from abroad to attend. That was 55 years ago. Thus, the first Auxins and Cytokinins in Plant Development symposium was established in 1972.

Since then, this tradition has continued every four years, providing an important platform for scientific exchange and lasting friendships. Now, in 2026, at a time when there is sometimes a curious tension between fact and fiction, we feel compelled to reassure you that this story is real and was not created by artificial intelligence. With a touch of irony, we can confirm that we firmly believe the concept of phytohormones will remain relevant in 2027 and beyond, as our appreciation of the fascinating complexity of plant hormone function continues to grow.

Above all, we are looking forward to welcoming you to Prague again in June 2027. It will be a great pleasure to meet our long-standing scientific friends and colleagues, as well as welcoming the new and dynamic young generation of researchers. We believe that it is this combination of experience, continuity, curiosity and fresh ideas that gives our community its strength and vitality.
